Macular Degeneration

Mascular Degeneration

Macular degeneration can result on a loss of central vision and occurs in two forms, dry and wet. Dry macular degeneration accounts for around 90% of all cases. We now believe there may be a link between nutrition and the progression of Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Wet macular degeneration results when fluid leaks from newly formed blood vessels under the macula. Vision loss can be rapid and very severe. If detected early, wet AMD can be treated with lasers and medication injection.
